Kemira Erica research center in Espoo is completed by us!

We have handed over to our client the structural work contract of the Kemira Erica research center located in the Finnoo area of Espoo. The project was represented by Haahtela-rakennuttaminen, with whom we have had successful collaboration for many years.

The Finnoo area in Espoo is rapidly developing, with the construction of modern offices, research centers, and residential developments. We are proud to have contributed to this development through the Kemira Erica research center project.

Maru Betoonitööd was responsible for the complex structural work contract of the project, which included the construction of foundations, in-situ casting of the basement floor, installation and monolithing of concrete and steel elements for six main floors, and installation of steel and concrete elements for the upper floors. We performed in-situ concrete work, installation of concrete elements, installation of the steel frame, and installation of intermediate floors made of steel ribbed plates. One major challenge was the installation of façade elements suspended from the intermediate floors with a curved exterior surface, allowing for an open façade.

Our contract began last October and was completed this June. A large part of the concrete work and element installation had to be carried out in last year’s extremely cold and snowy winter conditions. In total, we installed over 2000 m³ of cast-in-situ concrete structures, approximately 2000 m² of formwork, and over 2600 concrete and steel elements.

We thank the Maru Betoonitööd team and our long-term partner Haahtela for the excellent cooperation, thank you for the trust, and wish you success in future projects. We hope to continue our cooperation on new projects as well.
